Coach Bus Service
So, you've decided to hire a coach service! That's great! Coach services have a lot to offer their customers, but before you sign on the dotted line with the company of your choice, it's a good idea to ask a few questions to be sure you really know what you are getting into.

Here's what you should be asking:

#1: What kinds of coaches do you offer? What would best suit my needs?

Coach bus services usually have a wide variety of vehicles in their fleet, with an aim toward pleasing an array of customers, but all the choice in the world means nothing if they don't have what you need. Of course, it's important for you to understand what your needs are, in order for the Coach bus service to be able to meet them. Do you need the vehicle for an hour, or all day? Are you staying local, or would you like to go on a day trip somewhere else? Will there been 4 or 14 in your party? Ask yourself these questions and meet with the Coach bus service's staff armed with information about what exactly you need. That way, you'll be able to tell in minutes whether they have the kind of vehicle you need.

#2: How much will these services cost me? What exactly is included in the price?

Before you hire the Coach bus service, ensure that you get the price - the entire price - in writing, preferably itemized. In doing this, you are outlining in writing the amount you agree to pay and what you expect to receive for that price. If there are any discrepancies later, you can refer back to this document and hopefully work out some kind of compensation. Note that charges such as the salary of the driver, fuel cost, parking fees and tolls are quite common and should not be cause for alarm.

#3: What is your cancellation policy?

Let's face it: Life happens. Sometimes plans don't always go as, well, planned. You will want to know in advance whether you can cancel or not. More than that, however, you will want to find out how to cancel (do they need it in writing, or will a phone call do?), the timeline for cancellations (can you cancel the day before, or do they need a week's notice?) and how much it will cost you to cancel. Again, be sure to get all of this in writing.

Most Coach bus service companies will give you back a full refund if you cancel within their specified time parameters. They do not concern themselves with why you cancel; to them, the main thing is that you cancel in time for them to possibly recoup the loss of business by renting the coach to another customer. In other cases, however, you will be required to pay a cancellation fee regardless of when you cancel. This is usually calculated as a percentage of the total rental fee.

#4: What happens in the event of a breakdown?

If Murphy's Law should rear its ugly head and you end up broken down, you will want to be sure you have a backup plan in place. Or more specifically, that the Coach bus service has a back up plan in place for you. Will they refund your money? Will they send a replacement coach? Both? Find out before you go, so you can rest assured that every eventually will be taken care of.
